Our Story
MOANA TAYLOR
I have always had a passion for shoes and as a student at Ashburton College I dreamed of owning my own Shoe Store. I also love to shop so selecting shoes for Stepping Out is my dream job. While this is fun it is also challenging as we strive to get the right mix each season.
On a personal note, I am married to Paul, an arable farmer, and we have
3 adult children, and 5 grandchildren aged 2 – 13. One family lives in
Brisbane so regular visits across the ditch are a necessity in my life. I’m
blessed to still have my mum and time spent with her is precious.
I enjoy meeting people and feel very grateful to be able to share so
many stories of both happiness and sadness. Helping our customers
find what they need is very satisfying for me.
CAROLYN EWING
Raised and schooled in Ashburton, my chosen career on leaving school was hairdressing, which I loved . I am married to Steve who runs a small building business and we have 2 adult children, both married and are living in the Christchurch area. We have 2 grandchildren which light up our lives.
With almost 20 years in the shoe industry I still really enjoy getting up and going to work. I’ve met so many lovely customers along the way and shared so many of their stories. Helping customers feel good about themselves to create their own look whether it is for a special occasion or a shoe for everyday life is very important to me.
